AFI’s tooling engineers have over 50 years combined experience with the modeling, manufacturing and tool build of Aerospace and IGT tooling. Our main focus is on HP & LP airfoil turbine engine components. These include blades, vanes, shrouds, and structural components. Our tool model and manufacturing requires an electronic model from the turbine engine producer or investment casting house. AFI engineering takes the model and then incorporates the required shrink bands along with split lines and gate feed schemes into the design for formal customer approval prior to beginning the actual tool build. For older parts without an electronic model, AFI engineering can create a new model based on the customer-provided B/P for minimal costs.
